ATV and UTV Maintenance

ATV, UTV, Maintenance, Oil, Air Filter

Everyone who owns an ATV or UTV doesn’t want it to fall apart on them; so that’s why we created this list of things to do, and not to do, to keep your ATV/UTV in tip-top shape!

One of the easiest ways to keep your ATV/UTV running for years is to keep it in one piece! You would be surprised how many people don’t understand that concept. A vehicle that has been wrecked most likely doesn’t have much life left on it. So for your ATVs sake, don’t run it off a cliff or into a tree.

No matter what you hear, running your ATV into a barbed wire fence is not good for it!

We as humans need air to survive, same goes for an ATV/UTV. An engine needs air in order to operate properly and an air filter is what makes sure the air that gets to the engine is clean. You don’t want dirt particles, dust or any other small debris to get inside your engine, that’s where things get bad. So do your vehicle a huge favor and regularly clean your air filter and replace it when need be.

Here's a good example of what an air filter should and should not look like, take a wild guess and figure out which is which.

What’s something you’re supposed to do to your car or truck every 3,000 miles or so? That’s right, change the oil. Well here’s something that might shock you, you should do the same with your ATV or UTV! Just like an engine needs air, it also needs oil in order to operate. Now if you’re hobby is replacing motors then be my guest and never change the oil, because you’ll end up replacing an engine sooner or later. If you really want to get your money’s worth out of your ATV/UTV and have it last, check and change the oil regularly.

These are what we think of as three of the major aspects of ATV/UTV maintenance. Others include washing it, keeping it out of water, tightening bolts, greasing bearings and other parts, keeping the radiator clean and a few other things.
