ATV/UTV Aftermarket Accessories
There are all these new ATVs and UTVs on the market today, you would think that the aftermarket accessories would be just as cunning and innovative as the machines they’re made for. Well, you’re right. The possibilities are endless when looking for accessories for an ATV or UTV. They range from cell phone holders to full cab enclosures and everything in between. There some accessories that are specifically for cosmetics but most will offer improved performance. So let’s get started with the ATV accessories!
ATV
One of the most common aftermarket items bought for ATVs is trunks/storage bags. These bags can double or even triple the amount of storage that your ATV had when it came out of the factory. The different styles include tank bags, fender bags, front/rear rack bags, and trunks. Hard or soft sided options are available for most of these to help fit your needs. The trunks and some rear rack bags also double as a more comfortable seat for a second rider.
One of the top brands you can find for ATV cargo boxes is QuadBoss (pictured above).
Another popular aftermarket accessories is suspension and shocks. Suspension systems are a great way to alter your ATV to have it suit your riding needs! There’s lift kits, lowering kits, adjustable shocks and much more that can improve the ride of your ATV. My personal recommendation for shocks would be FOX or Walker Evans. Our MASSFX RZR and our personal vehicles all run either FOX or Walker Evans brand shocks.
UTV
Just like with ATVs, UTV owners frequently buy storage bags and boxes for their vehicles. The main difference between ATV and UTV storage is the size and style. UTVs are bigger vehicles so obviously they will have bigger storage containers. Most UTV storage is found in the bed, which is what most containers are designed to fit. Just like the ATV storage, UTV storage containers can be found in soft-sided, hard-sided or even tread plate styles.
This picture goes to show how endless the possibilities are when it comes to UTV bed storage.
Another common aftermarket accessory bought with UTVs is a winch. Winches are almost a necessity if you’re doing any serious off roading. Without a winch, a fun day on the trails can turn into a long walk back to camp without your vehicle. A good brand to go with for a winch is Warn. They’ve dominated the winch world for years and it’s easy to see why.
Snow plows are an item that is more localized to the northern sections of the US. If you’ve ever been in a northern state in winter, I can almost guarantee that you’ve seen a UTV or even an ATV with a snow plow attached to the front of it. A snow plow is one of those accessories that you might not need very often, but sure is a life saver whenever you do have to use it. Just like the winches, Warn is a great brand to look for when thinking about purchasing a snow plow. Another brand to look for would be BOSS, which offers full-size UTV snow plows.
When purchasing a plow, make sure that you already have a winch or that the plow kit comes with one. Most UTV and ATV plows have to have a winch in order to raise and lower the blade.
We hope this has been helpful if you're wondering what accessories to put on your ATV or UTV!
